Brothers in music, Lebo M together with his friend Hans Zimmer thrilled the crowd at the Grand Arena last Friday. The concert kept music lovers on their toes from start to finish.

The Grand Arena at GrandWest came alive on Friday as Grammy Award-winning music composers and producers Lebo M and Hans Zimmer took to the stage for a night of musical magic.
Dubbed as home-coming concert, Lebo M and his special guest and friend Zimmer, performed together on African soil for the first time.
The concert also celebrated 30 years of The Lion King, which both Lebo M and Zimmer had worked on.
Dressed in all-white traditional attire, Lebo M came out on stage to offer hit after hit on Friday, much to the joy of the packed arena.
The audience was silenced when he shared the story of his late mom who he said passed away when she was 100 years old. It was a touching moment. He sang Nguwe (It’s you) , a song dedicated to her.
Speaking to the media just before the start of the concert, Lebo M shared his excitement.
“My music is and always will be rooted in home soil, and I couldn’t be more excited about staging my first live concert season in Cape Town. The music from The Lion King not only touched hearts and minds around the world; it continues to provide an inspirational platform to uplift local talent and inspire the next generation of creators.”
His friend Zimmer was happy to share the stage with his "brother".
“I am thrilled that we have been partners, brothers, and friends since childhood. We began our journey creating films about Africa at a time when few were willing to do so,” he said.
Lebo M was joined by an all-star line-up including MiCasa, the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra, the Soweto Spiritual Singers, Ndlovu Youth Choir, Nkosinathi Shabalala and his own daughter, Refi Sings.
