The wait is over. Gert-Johan Coetzee reveals the highly anticipated Disney collection.

The celebrity designer announced his partnership with Disney last year and, now, he revealed some of the statement pieces from the collection.

The colourful collection includes purple pants with Disney cartoon characters, pleated skirts, maxi dresses and some vibrant print shirt-dresses.

“The fairy tale has begun! Our Disney x Gert-Johan Coetzee collaboration is now live! Immerse yourself in a world of wonder, from Donald Duck's playful vibes and embodying the many facets of a Disney Princess to The Lion King's mighty roar. Magic awaits,” he said.

Coetzee had a photoshoot at Hyde Park Corner to create a lookbook for the collection, and his vision was clear - a sense of wonder and nostalgia.

“The playful colours, intricate designs and bold silhouettes of the collection danced in harmony with the gallery's vibrant energy, creating a spellbinding experience that left onlookers mesmerised.

“This photoshoot wasn’t just a showcase; it was a celebration of creativity, inviting everyone to step into a world where comic and style met imagination and dreams came alive,” said the designer.

This collaboration came after Coetzee was announced as the creative director for the Steve Madden Spring/Summer 24 collection.

Both brands shut down one of the auditoriums at the Sandton Convention Centre to host a New York-styled fashion show, unveiling over 50 pieces created by the designer.

The Disney x Gert-Johan Coetzee collection is available for purchase online and will also be at preview stores in Sandton City, with key pieces of the collection at Menlyn Mall, from February.
