The children of Oakdale will receive a special visit from Santa right on their own doorstep on Christmas eve, Thursday December 24.
Patrollers from the Oakdale Neighbourhood Watch will act as reindeers for the jolly old man, who will drive through the area handing out treats and sweets to all the children from his seat at the back of a bakkie.
Yollanda Fritz, a member of the watch, said: “This has been a really tough year for all of us and even for the kids so we thought that this will be a nice way to bring some smiles to their faces.”
Ms Fritz added that the Santa drive-by will take place from 6pm till 9pm and parents will be sent a message via WhatsApp groups prior to Santa’s visit.
