An information session about the City ombudsman will be held at its new premises, at the Omniforum Building, in Kuils River, on November Tuesday 29, from 10am to 2pm.
The ombudsman moved from the city centre earlier this month.
The ombudsman investigates complaints from the public about municipal service delivery, but complainants must first show proof that they have tried to approach the relevant department first to resolve the issue.
“The office recently launched an SMS service to help the City keep in touch with customers. City customers are able to send a message to 44781(standard rates apply) to get information and assistance on how to lodge a complaint. The ombud’s office undertakes to respond to an SMS query within two working days,” the City said in a statement.
“Please always include any relevant documentation or evidence. The Ombudsman’s Office will assess the complaint, to determine whether the office can assist or whether to direct the complainant to the appropriate department or institution.”
The office will be open Monday to Friday (excluding weekends and public holidays) from 8am to 4pm.
