Parts of Brackenfell were left without electricity for more than two hours after a man climbed a power-line pylon in Cecil Morgan Drive on Sunday morning.
Eskom pulled the plug on the suburb from 11am to 1.25pm to prevent the man from being electrocuted, said Eskom spokesman Kyle Cookson.
“The 66kV line was switched off for the removal of the person which was successfully done by the authorities on site,” he said.
Police spokesman Sergeant Wesley Twigg said the City Fire and Rescue Service had removed the man from the power line and he had been taken to a medical facility.
“No criminal cases were registered for investigation.”
Fire and Rescue Service spokesman Jermaine Carelse said the man had escaped injury.
