The main gate on the west side of Tygerberg Hospital will be closed until the end of June while the guard house is demolished and rebuilt, says the provincial Department of Health.
Visitors are advised to use the east entrance, said department spokesperson Byron La Hoe.
The hospital's CEO Dr Matodzi Mukosi said: “We apologise in advance for any inconvenience this will cause while we improve our hospital entrances for all who make use of our facility. We are aware that any road closure is an inconvenience and could frustrate users, but we appeal with everyone to please exercise patience while the work is under way. Once this project is completed, everyone coming to the hospital will have a more pleasant experience.".
