Police are investigating after four men were shot dead on Tuesday night in Wallacedene.
Kraaifontein police were called out to an informal settlement at about 8pm where they found the bodies with gunshot wounds in a shack, said police spokeswoman Brigadier Novela Potelwa.
The men are all believed to be in their early 30s and were residents of Wallacedene.
Detectives were investigating the possibility that the dead men were involved in a business robbery in the area, she said.
Kraaifontein Community Police Forum chairman Robert Bisset said: “I condemn this incident. It should never happen in our community. It's not for the community or anybody to take action into their hands.”
This comes almost a week after Northern News reported that there were 60 murders in the Kraaifontein precinct from the beginning of October to the end of December last year, up 20% from 50 for the same period in 2021.
