Police are seeking two men in connection with a Durbanville farm robbery that left an 80-year-old man bleeding alongside Contermanskloof Road.

At 5pm last Friday, the two men entered the main house at Kliprug Farm, Durbanville and attacked the elderly man, according to Durbanville police spokesman Captain Marchell Rhode.

“At this stage, it is unknown how entry was gained by the suspects. The police found that the house was full of blood. An axe and knives were found with blood on them and the rooms were ransacked,” Captain Rhode said.

"Police were notified by security guards who were patrolling along Contermanskloof Road that they found a man lying alongside the road bleeding with a wound to his head.

“Police then arranged for the man to be transported to a nearby hospital. It was later discovered that the man was assaulted and robbed of his belongings inside his house at Kliprug Farm. We heard that apparently the man had walked by himself on the road perhaps looking for help after he was attacked and the security guards happen to stumble upon him that time.”

The intruders fled towards Dunoon, according to Captain Rhode.

“They fled on foot and apparently loaded the stolen items inside a suitcase. At this stage, I cannot confirm all the items that were stolen,” he said.
