Kidnapped woman reunited with family, five men arrested

A 31-year-old Welgemoed woman who was kidnapped in Parow Industria on Friday has been reunited with her family and five men have been arrested in connection with her abduction, say police.

The men were arrested at a house in Mfuleni on Tuesday afternoon, said police spokesperson Brigadier Novela Potelwa.

The woman had been abducted after leaving her family business on Friday evening and her vehicle was later discovered abandoned in Gugulethu after she failed to return home from work, said Brigadier Potelwa.

The five suspects, aged 25 to 32, face kidnapping, hijacking, human trafficking and extortion charges.
