Pupils from five Kraaifontein schools attended a two-day career expo at the Kraaifontein civic centre this week.
It was organised by Sub-council 2, in partnership with the Cape Career Exhibitors’ Association, the provincial Department of Local Government and the City of Cape Town, and representatives from 28 training institutions were on hand to answers the pupils’ questions.
Pupils from Northpine Technical, Kraaifontein and Fisantekraal high schools attended on Tuesday while pupils from Hector Peterson and Monument Park high schools were there on Wednesday.
Franlen Coetzee, from the Cape Career Exhibitors Association, said: “Generally we exhibit in the schools for Grades 9, 11 and 12. We see about three to four schools per day, but it's still not enough. We also include the Grade 9s as they still need to choose their subject choices and the Grade 12s as they can apply at the universities and TVET colleges.”
