The City has supported traffic-calming measures for two streets in Peerless Park after residents called for them, according to City traffic engineering technician Akhona Maseko, whose report was included in the agenda of the Sub-council 2 meeting on Wednesday.

She said one speed hump was supported in Steytler Street and another speed hump in Hoff Street, in consideration for the park closer to these streets, which she said has the potential to cause a conflict between pedestrians and motorists.

Traffic-calming measures were provided to protect vulnerable pedestrians and other road users in residential areas and where there were public facilities such as parks, schools and clinics, Ms Maseko said.
