Police seized mandrax tablets with an estimated street value of R60 000 near Bellville on Tuesday evening June 27.
At 6pm, police were tipped off that drugs were being transported on the N1 near Bellville in a white VW Polo, said Bellville police spokesman, Captain Aubrey Morwenyane.
Once the vehicle was spotted on N1, the officers instructed the driver to pull over, and when they searched the car, they found two bags of 2000 mandrax tablets.
The driver was arrested.
