Twenty-two Grade 11 schoolgirls from Sarepta Secondary School have been learning about leadership, conflict resolution, climate change, first-aid, basic firefighting and self-defence at the City’s Disaster Risk Management centre in Goodwood this week. Mayoral committee member for safety and security JP Smith says the programme for women and girls, which ends on Saturday, is designed “to help learners think differently about their environment, and the role they can play in safeguarding their communities”.
