Proposed traffic-calming measures for the northern suburbs and other parts of Cape Town are out for public comment until month’s end.
The plans affect Thakudi, Grootboom and Kuanda steets in Wallacedene; Krige Street in Peerless Park; Alicia Crescent and Bonita Crescent in Scottsdene and the Langemeer Road; Herbert Street and Stellenberg Road in Bellville; Luckhoff Street in Durbanville; and Paul Kruger Street in Parow.
‘'We have identified roads in suburbs across Cape Town where there are large numbers of vulnerable road users. These are mostly roads that are close to schools, hospitals, and old age homes, for example. These proposed traffic-calming measures will enhance road safety for all road users,” said Rob Quintas, the mayoral committee member for urban mobility.
