A 55-year-old woman was killed and three other people were injured in a five-vehicle crash in Brackenfell on Monday morning.
The incident happened in Bottelary Road, at about 7.30am, according to police spokesman Warrant Officer Joseph Swartbooi.
The woman was declared dead at the scene by medical personnel, he said.
“Three victims, who also sustained injuries, one male and two females, were transported to nearby hospitals for medical treatment.”
Police are investigating a culpable homicide.
Titanium Securitas Medical Response team spokesman Kobus Kotze said they had found the dead woman trapped inside her vehicle.
“It is unclear at this stage exactly how the collision occurred, but local authorities were on scene to conduct a full investigation into the matter,” he said.
