Anita Momberg, of Kuils River, is among the 30 women who will compete in the Mrs South Africa pageant finals in November.
The finalists - chosen from 100 semi-finalists - were announced at Theatre of Marcellus in Gauteng on Friday July 7.
Former Mrs South Africa queens Matapa Maila, Jacqueline Ferns, Dr Fezile Mkhize and Catherine Constantinides were among the judges.
Ms Momberg says making the finals is a dream come true for her.
She fosters two children and says she wants to raise awareness about fostering children, support foster-care families and improve the system.
“The Mrs South Africa programme serves as a catalyst for personal growth. The value of this journey for me lies in the ability to empower individuals, inspire positive change and promote a more inclusive society.”
Mrs South Africa is the country’s pageant for married women.
This year’s queen will be crowned in a grand finale at Emperors Palace, Kempton Park, on Friday, November 17.
“We were simply amazed by the remarkable talent and dedication of each of this year’s top-30 finalists,” says pageant CEO Joani Johnson. “Their strength, resilience, and determination in pursuing their dreams truly serve as an example to all women and girls, and we’re proud to be a part of a new chapter in their stories.”
