Police arrested 11 suspects at the weekend after a businessman was kidnapped inside a supermarket in Kuils River on Wednesday last week.
Police spokeswoman Brigadier Novela Potelwa said robbers took cigarettes and undisclosed amount of cash and kidnapped the 34-year-old businessman.
“Upon reporting of the crime, the multi-disciplinary team sprang into action and an investigation commenced. All available leads were followed up which led to the arrest of a total of ten suspects,” she said.
Further investigation, she said, led police an address in Tamarisk Street, Delft, where they rescued the businessman and arrested an eleventh suspect.
