A non-profit organisation, Save Our Schools (SOS), with support from two sponsors, donated a shipping container housing two toilets and two shower cubicles, to the Bloekombos community on Friday, ahead of World Toilet Day on Sunday November 19. The facility was set up at the Lofdal International Restoration Centre, comprising a church, a preschool and a soup kitchen. “We noticed that there is a need for toilet and sanitary solutions in this community," said Amy Burrow, an SOS spokeswoman. The non-profit also launched its Raising the Bar project on the same day to promote hygiene and encourage soap-making at preschools. Picture: Sibulele Kasa.
