The No Stop non-profit organisation, from Scottsville, has served over 60 000 meals from the beginning of April last year until the end of March this year, according to its latest report.

This is double what the organisation served in the previous financial year, according to the report released on Tuesday.

“Notably, 47% of the meals served (in the latest report) were received by children below 18 years, highlighting the programme's impact on the most vulnerable members of our community,” said Charlene Miles, the NPO’s founder.

The organisation prepares the meals in the kitchen of the Bethel Tabernacle Full Gospel Church in Scottsville, drawing people from as far as Wallacedene and Bloekombos.

Ms Miles thanked sponsors, volunteers and the church for their support.

One of the volunteer chefs, Caroline Manuel, 77, said she enjoyed making meals for the needy as she had nine school-going children in her house, including grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
