A cash reward of up to R100 000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and successful prosecution of two suspects being sought in connection with the killing of a 64-year-old woman in Wallacedene last month, say police.
Yanele Mangweni, 32, and Siyabonga Kholakele, 29, are suspects in the case, according to provincial police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Malcolm Pojie.
The woman, a meat vendor, was shot on the corner of Maroela and Ntongabini streets, on Tuesday August 20, at about 7.30pm.
"Preliminary information gathered revealed that two suspects approached the victim under the pretext of purchasing meat from her,” Lieutenant Colonel Pojie said. “They allegedly followed the victim into her shack where the deceased was shot in the head.
“The suspects thereafter fled the scene on foot and have since evaded arrest."
Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of the suspects can call Crime Stop at 08600 10111 or use the My SAPS app.
