Community organisations joined hands to host an event that aimed at bringing peace to the community of Scottsville in Kraaifontein on Saturday March 29. The event, dubbed the Day of Sports for Peace and Development, saw the re-launch of the Scottsville Drum Majorettes. The organiser of the event Adriaan Speelman said the local drum majorettes were active until the early 2000s when its founder Susan Solomons passed away. He said the convoy of drummies and spiritual dancers marched through the streets of Scottsville for the re-launch, from Titus to Dalia streets, where the activities continued at the local park. The Bikers Food Drive joined the celebration, bringing a convoy of 20 motorbikes to accompany the food trucks. Some of the stakeholders included soccer and rugby teams, police, and CPF among others.
