Police discovered a consignment of drugs consisting of 34 210 mandrax tablets,1kg of crystal meth (tik) and an undisclosed amount of cash in Bellville on Tuesday morning.
“The members confiscated drugs with an estimated value of R1.8 million and arrested a 31-year-old Nigerian national in connection with the discovery,” said police spokesman, Lieutenant Colonel Malcolm Pojie.
He said the crime combatting operation was executed at around 6.45am when officers followed up on information of drug activities taking place at a block of flats in Bellville.
The suspect was expected to appear in the Bellville Magistrate's Court, once charged.
