Pupils get lessons from the garden

The Greater Tygerberg Partnership (GTP) welcomed 40 pupils from Kasselsvlei Primary School and Bellville South High School to the garden of MES Safe Space in Bellville to teach them about sustainable gardening last Wednesday, May 14.

The Call 2 Stop World Food Waste Garden excursion allowed pupils to get hands-on experience of composting and gave lessons about gardening.

Through scavenger hunts, planting activities, and harvesting, pupils developed the "Waste Less" mindset. The initiative formed part of a mission to reimagine Bellville as a sustainable urban centre where people grow together.
