Metro Police have effected a second cocaine bust in Brackenfell in less than two weeks.
A man was arrested for allegedly being in possession of cocaine in Brackenfell on Tuesday May 27.
Metro Police spokeswoman Ruth Solomons said their officers were on patrol at about 2pm when they spotted the driver of a private car jumping a red robot on Frans Conradie Drive.
She said they stopped the vehicle and sought permission to inspect the vehicle and, while interviewing the driver, they noticed some bulges in his slides and he was asked to remove the shoes.
“The officers found a total of 37 packets of cocaine in both shoes, with an estimated street value of nearly R17 000. They also booked in a cash amount of more than R3 000,” she said.
The suspect was detained at Brackenfell SAPS for further investigation.
This comes less than two weeks after Metro Police officers confiscated cocaine with an estimated street value of R35 000 after a high-speed chase in Brackenfell on Sunday, May 18.
