Call for abuse survivors to share their stories on upcoming book

Staff Reporter|Published

Kuils River activist and founder of the Aurorah Kuils River Community Action Network (CAN), Latifah Jacobs, has called on abuse survivors to share their lived experiences of abuse to an upcoming book titled The Horrors of Trust.

Aurorah is a volunteer-run group that supports vulnerable community members through various initiatives like food relief and social development projects.

Ms Jacobs said the book aims to shed light on the reality that many mistreatments are committed by close relatives and loved ones. Submissions can be made in the form of a short story, letter, poem and other types of art.

Contributors can choose to identify themselves, to be anonymous or use a pseudo name. Guidance is also available for people who need help to document their stories.

Submit your story to latifahjacobsm@gmail.com or contact Ms Jacobs for more information on 071v589v3409.

The deadline for submissions is on Saturday August 30.
