Anita Momberg, from Kuilsriver, has secured her place as one of the Top 30 Finalists in the Mrs South Africa 2025 competition.

She was selected among 94 semi-finalists of this year’s season at the national casting, which was held in Pretoria in January.

The journey to the top 30 culminated at the on-stage semi-final showcase held on Friday, July 4, at the Emperors Palace in Johannesburg.

Over the semi-finals week, contestants underwent workshops, interviews, and mentorship sessions.

“Judges are looking for more than just presence – they are looking for purpose,” said Joani Johnson, chief executive of Mrs South Africa. “What these women do on stage is important, but it’s their impact off stage that matters most.”

Affectionately referred to as the “MBA of Life,” Mrs South Africa aims to equip married women, aged 25 to 55, with leadership and communication skills through public speaking workshops, brand-building sessions, and mentorship.

“Just days after hearing I had made the Top 30, I underwent preventive surgery as a BRCA (Breast Cancer gene) warrior, a deeply personal step after losing my mom to cancer. I hope my journey reminds women everywhere that even when life throws its toughest battles, you can still stand tall, be seen, and be heard,” said Ms Momberg.

She said her medical journey taught her that strength is not about perfection, "It’s about showing up with purpose.”

In the months ahead, she will host a charity event in Cape Town to raise funds for the Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA).

“Being a BRCA warrior isn’t just about making medical decisions, it’s about owning your power. I want other women to know that they are not alone, and that we can fight fear with knowledge and community.”

“This is not about a title. It’s about taking up space, changing the narrative, and being the kind of woman who holds the door open for others,” Ms Momberg concluded.

The Mrs South Africa 2025 finals will be held in Johannesburg on Friday, November 14, at the Emperors Palace.
