As part of the launch of the new shop in Brackenfell, Help The Rural Child Charity is running a special opening competition throughout September.

The shop officially opened its doors on Monday, September 1, with a ceremony attended by staff, management, and supporters.

To mark the occasion, the first 20 customers were treated with a gift voucher to a local bakery in the business park, as a small token of gratitude for their support, according to the charity.

Every purchase made in-store will now enter customers into a lucky draw to win shopping vouchers for the store, said Michelle Gibbs, the spokesperson of the charity. The competition closes on Tuesday, September 30, at 5pm.

“With its welcoming atmosphere and ever-changing stock, the Brackenfell shop promises to be a community hub where shoppers can uncover bargains while supporting a vital cause,” Ms Gibbs said.

Proceeds from HTRC shops fund the work of the Goedgedacht Trust POP Centres, which provide life-changing support for rural children, including daily nutritious meals, holiday clubs, homework support, and many more wellness activities.

The new charity shop is located at the Okavango Junction, Unit K16, Okavango Park, Kenwil Drive, Brackenfell.

It is open from Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm, and Saturdays, 9am – 1pm. For more information, call 021 023 2273 or visit their website.
