Paarl School for Children with Disabilities, in Brackenfell, celebrated Casual Day on Friday,  September 5.

Casual Day is a national fund-raising and awareness initiative by the National Council of and for Persons with Disabilities (NCPD) for persons with disabilities. This year’s theme was 'Beyond the Label',  a reminder to look past disabilities and see the potential in every individual.

The pupils in Brackenfell had fun with boeresport games that were specially adapted for children with disabilities, and they took part in a fashion parade, showcasing outfits made from recycled materials.

To make the day even more memorable, the Paarl School Development Foundation sponsored a sweet treat pack for every pupil and staff member.
