The City has launched its first vehicle licensing renewal drive-through facility in Brackenfell for motorists to renew their vehicle licence discs within five minutes on average.

The new facility is situated on the corner of Reservoir and Kruispad Roads in Brackenfell, and motorists can renew their vehicle licence discs without leaving their cars, according to the City.

It will operate from Mondays to Fridays from 11.30am to 7.30pm, and on Saturdays from 11am to 2.30pm.

The City, as agents for the Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC), is working to extend operating hours on weekdays. No cash will be kept on the premises.

"At this stage, our new facility will cater exclusively to the renewal of motor vehicle licences. To ensure a more efficient service to our residents, it will be cashless, accepting debit and credit card payments," said Siseko Mbandezi, the mayoral committee member for finance.
