The World Mission Society Church of God delivered 30 food packages to those in need during a visit to Bloekombos, Kraaifontein, on Thursday, October 23.

Each package contained a variety of staples, including rice, cooking oil, salt, sugar, jam, canned fish, beans, tea, and soup. The boxes were distributed to beneficiaries at the Bloekombos community hall as part of the church's Hold Hope campaign.

The initiative was held in observance of World Food Day, an annual event celebrated on October 16, highlighting the importance of food security and support for vulnerable communities.

Siyambonga Majeriman, a representative of the church, said: “Our members have prepared these donations with devotion to support a brighter tomorrow for our neighbours. We will continue to practice the love of Christ in our local communities through sharing and volunteer work in various fields.”

The church said it has provided support to about 7 400 households in approximately 80 countries, including South Africa.

Ward 101 councillor Siyabonga Duka expressed gratitude to the church for bringing the campaign to his ward.
