Ward 11 councillor Wouter de Vos has expressed excitement after a film company decided to shoot scenes for a series in Kuils River.
The company, Blue Ice Africa, will be filming for Sniper, an action series, at the mothballed section of the Kamal Cisco steel mill in Fabriek Street on Saturday March 8 and then again on Monday March 10 until Friday March 14, from 7am until 7pm.
“The filming will take place exclusively within the mothballed plant area. Please note that there will be scenes involving gunfire using blanks, but these will be strictly controlled by professional armourers and are fully permitted,” the company said in a statement.
Councillor De Vos said: “Film industry is a big thing in Cape Town, and it creates a lot of jobs. I am happy that Kuils River is also playing a role.”
