The Bellville library will offer limited services until Monday March 3 following persistent acts of vandalism, says the City.
The library’s heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning system had suffered irreparable damage from vandalism over an extended period of time, said a City statement.
Work to restore airflow and air quality should be finished towards the end of March, but the library would offer limited services until then.
“It is important that our facilities comply with health and safety standards. The steps being taken are essential to ensuring the health and well-being of our staff and patrons,” said Francine Higham, mayoral committee member for community services and health.
