Goodwood police arrested two men for following an armed robbery at a Nelson Street shop on Saturday.

Two men accused of armed robbery are due to appear in the Goodwood Magistrate’s Court.

According to Goodwood police spokesman Captain Wayne Theunis, six men robbed a shop in Nelson Street, on Saturday February 13. Two of the men were armed and demanded cash from staff and customers.

The owner of the shop activated a panic alarm and alerted police.

When police arrived, the robbers escaped through the roof and ran in different directions, but the police gave chase and arrested a man who appeared to have shot himself in the leg and another hiding in a nearby yard. The suspects are 31 and 36.
