The Alma Café at 20 Alma Road, Rosebank, is hosting the Rainbow Box – an Accordion Showcase on Friday May 3 in celebration of World Accordion Day that takes place on Monday May 6.
Accordion players like Leon Oosthuizen from Melkbosstrand, Loren Ehlers from Mowbray, Mr Dreams from Nqamakwe and R.K.M from Soweto will be performing.
Doors will open at 6.30pm for 7pm at the Alma Cafe, and tickets for the show are R200 per person – this includes a meal. The show starts at 8pm and tickets can be booked by emailing bookings@almacafe.co.za or calling 021 685 7377.
The above accordion players will also be in action at the Drostdy Theatre in Stellenbosch on Sunday May 5, from 1pm, which will first include a lunch and expo and then the concert will start at 3pm.
Additional accordion players like the duo known as Babette & Olga from Claremont, Neil Paulse from Bishop Lavis, MJ Brooks from Durbanville, Monika Stuchlik and children from Milnerton, Louis Verwey from Brooklyn and André van Vuuren from Bellville, will also perform.
Local actress Nicole Holm will be the MC for the Drostdy Theatre concert. Tickets cost R310 per person and can be bought on Webtickets.
