Young karateka impress at Kyokushin memorial tournament

Karate students from Gavin's Martial Arts Academy in Woodlands, Portland, and Kuils River took part in the Memorial Cup Kyokushin Karate tournament, at the Wynberg Military Base sports hall, over the weekend. The tournament, hosted by False Bay Kyokushin Academy in honour of the late Sensei Willie Jordaan, featured 150 competitors from dojos across the city, with GMA Academy's students claiming first, second, and third place on the podium.
