Panthers dominate Blackheath, Falcons down Dolphins in softball action

There were big wins for Panthers, Falcons and Westridge Yankees in the Cape Town Softball Association in Athlone this past weekend.

Panthers Softball Club, from Plumstead, beat Blackheath 17-0 in the Ladies First Division.

Panthers are second on the log and are fighting for promotion into the Ladies Major League.

Panthers second team, however, were defeated 7-18 by Blackheath.

Meanwhile, Falcons Softball Club beat Belhar Dolphins 22-6 in the Ladies Major League. Falcons second team also won 11-10 against a stubborn Tantasport.

Westridge Yankees walked away 5-1 victors against the Ladies Major League log-leaders, Lavender Hill.

After nine innings of action, Yankees’ First Division team won 19-2 against Lavender Hill.

Matches from the juniors right up to the seniors will continue on Saturday February 15 and Sunday February 16, at the Turfhall sports complex.
